Trent Taking To First Team Role

LIVERPOOL under-23s coach Mike Garrity believes Trent Alexander-Arnold is reaping the rewards of first team experience under Jürgen Klopp.

Garrity said: “I would say it gave him a massive lift, a big surge of confidence.

“It has made him grow up and mature as a footballer being around experienced first team players every day, which is what he probably needed and he has taken to it like a duck to water. He has done really well.”

Was boss against Chelsea’s under-23s last night. Great goal too. Go ‘ed, Trent.

Woodburn Set For Wales Call

BEN Woodburn could be set for a senior Wales call-up, which would bring to an end doubts over his international future.

Wales assistant manager Owain Roberts told S4C: “He’s knocking on the door now. What’s definite is that there are a lot of young players in this group doing that. And we need that. We’re really pleased with them.

“A lot of them have already been in our camps for a week at a time to get that experience, so they can make that step when the chance comes. It’s important we have that freshness as we move on.”

Really confident about this lad’s future. Football intelligence way beyond his years.

French Youngster On Turning Down Liverpool

MARSEILLE youngster Maxime Lopez has claimed he turned down the chance to be Philippe Coutinho’s long-term replacement at Liverpool.

The 19-year-old said: “They approached me in a good way. I even met Steven Gerrard at the stadium after a game. They said to me: ‘In five years you get Coutinho’s place.’

“I wanted to go there, but also to stay at Marseille. To go like that, at this age and even with your family, is very hard.”

That sentence on Coutinho could be enough in itself for a social media meltdown.
