Can’s Role

Emre Can’s second good game in a row there, think Jürgen Klopp is getting the best out of him in that six role. @jsexton24

Game was low on quality from the Reds but whoever threw that block in at 2-1 can have man of the match. @johngibbonsblog

Sky gave it to Can. @PaulSenior1

That’s fair enough. He literally won the game. @johngibbonsblog

Divock Debate

Origi also making a case to start in games against lesser sides, particularly at home. Gives you something different but doesn’t disrupt the way the team plays by any means. @jsexton24

You pissed, Josh? @johngibbonsblog

Thought he was shite TBH. @PaulSenior1

Just mean generally he offers something different, don’t think he had an outstanding game or anything but would suit us better in those games. @jsexton24

I think Josh should be on a first formal warning for his Origi comment. Looks completely lost to me. @paul7cope

Has Firmino looked much better in the majority of those kind of games this season, though? I don’t think Origi’s shite today. @jsexton24

He started quite bright but his head went down as soon as it started going wrong. A few of them are like that. Which is why you sort of have to respect Emre. He keeps going and keeps his mad, sometimes misguided, self-belief. @johngibbonsblog

Nice One, Si

Oh, big go ed to Simon Mignolet. Some boss punches under pressure. He was great on the one he got flattened. @johngibbonsblog

Yes, John! @Andrew_Heaton

Coutinho Carrying?

Bit worried about Phil Coutinho. Do we think he’s carrying something? @johngibbonsblog

Phil and Adam Lallana were awful. @RobGutmann

Coutinho was shite, says a lot when Ben Woodburn came on and looked much the better player, created loads more and got in better areas. @jsexton24

Half-Time Fume

Thought all of them apart from Sadio Mane were shite. I’d have sold nine of them at half-time. @Benjanijohnson

Was fuming, Jonno. Had an angry Facebook all lined up. @johngibbonsblog

Adam threw a pie in the bin at half-time because he was so angry. It was boss. @Benjanijohnson

Tactics

I’m a bit concerned by the manager’s tactics. Just seems a bit naive to play Andre Gray the way he did today. @PaulSenior1

We just need better players. @johngibbonsblog

Thought our defence were too high up which made the ball up to Gray too easy — done the same with Vardy and others this season. @jsexton24

Conclusion

It is nice to win not playing well, though. First time all season? @johngibbonsblog

Arguably we needed that win more than a 5-0. Had to find a touch of quality, and steal it. Taking more from that than Arsenal. Burnley are good at what they do. Credit to Sean Dyche. @PaulSenior1

I’m made up with it. Every season features games like that and you just have to win, find a way, have some spirit, just keep going and don’t feel sorry for yourselves. That first goal was massive for that. It meant they could put the ‘oh no, not this again’ shite in the bin. After that, they realised that they can play like Joey Barton as well if they have to. It was full of boss needle, not least Lallana leaving one on the centre-half. Up the game for a scrap Reds. @robbohuyton

I’m ecstatic about those three points. Talk about digging deep. @RobGutmann
