THE ever-dull international break has finally come to an end so to celebrate we’re having an on-loan players catch-up special! Exciting that, isn’t it?

That’s right, for now we’re just going to ignore the uncertainty of which players are going to make it back to Melwood in time to be available for the visit of Manchester United — and, instead, focus on how some of our lads out on loan are doing. (If you’re reading this get Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho back safe, please and thanks xox).

ON-LOAN CATCH-UP SPECIAL: First Part

Hollywood stuff this, honestly. You might — or might not — have been wondering how Jon Flanagan is getting on, yes? Well, you’re in luck. Sean Dyche has today been talking about Flanno’s loan and it seems to be all good news, at the moment.

Dyche said: “There is a good competition there. Flanners has fitted in well here and he’s getting back to real fitness and sharpness, it takes a long time, we’ve seen it with our lads. He’d been out for a long time. He’s enjoying it, he wants to play, of course, but he’s enjoying what we offer here.”

Not into him being called ‘Flanners’, to be honest. Also, I hope he does get some game time soon.

ON-LOAN CATCH-UP SPECIAL: Second (And Final) Part

If that didn’t whet your appetite this surely will. Danny Ward has given us an update on how he’s getting on playing for Jürgen’s mate David at Huddersfield — though he’s mainly said how he hopes to get on at Liverpool, to be honest.

He told BBC Wales Sport: “You have to strive and aim to be at the top and hopefully I can get there. You don’t sign for a club to settle for what you’ve got. You’ve always got to try and push yourself to be the best.

“At Liverpool, they all look hungry as if they’ve got a real desire and that’s quite similar to here. The manager has implemented his style and brought players in he feels would work and it seems to be paying off.”

Good stuff from Danny. I like his attitude, think it will serve him well in the future.

How Boss Is That?

The club today announced that they have renewed their partnership with Hugo Boss and have released some good snaps of the lads giving it blue steel to show off their partnership.

All good. More money for the club, and that. Still, though, they can’t afford to do up the Annie Road end. Apparently it’s not got the potential for corporate facilities, so basically it can’t happen. *sighs*

Sound that, Reds.

Big Dan Agger

Loved Dan Agger, me. Shame that his injuries ruined his career, the way they did. Anyway, he’s been showing his love for Liverpool today by adding to the Y-N-W-A tattooed on his knuckles.

He’s now gone the whole hog and thrown a couple of Liverbirds on there as well. Boss.

Today’s Reads

Just one feature on the site today. Phil Blundell’s column, in which he talks about what we can expect from the Reds — and some of the league’s other contenders — over the coming weeks and months. Read that here.

Doing this again, soz. It’s just another great podcast on TAW Player, as Neil spoke to Jason McAteer about his book and his Liverpool career. If you’re a subscriber you can listen here.
