WE’RE exactly halfway between Saturday’s 4-1 win over Leicester and the upcoming Friday night trip to Stamford Bridge.

While it remains unclear which Liverpool side will be turning up at Chelsea, the players will certainly be on a high after their victory over the champions, and the buzz off the extra 8,000-plus in Anfield on that day. They’re going to have to manage with much less support at ‘The Bridge’ but will be hoping for the same outcome — if only to see another emotional post-match from Gary Cahill.

Lallana To Be Offered New Deal

He’s clearly a favourite of Jürgen Klopp’s, and it’s becoming increasingly clear to see why. Adam Lallana has had a great season, up until now, having already reached half his scoring tally of last season in just four games and opening up his senior international account, for Fat Sam’s England.

Lallana has excelled in a deeper role, and is working harder than ever to impress his manager. And it’s clearly paying off, as Paul Joyce from The Express is reporting that the 28-year-old will be offered a new long-term deal before the end of the year.

Is right, Adam. Just keep doing the goals and everybody is happy.

Ferguson: Klopp’s A Good Fit For Liverpool

Alex Ferguson has been saying nice things about Liverpool, proving that there really is a first time for everything. The ex-Manchester United manager commented on the impact that Klopp has had at the club, in UEFA’s latest technical report, insisting that the manager is the right fit.

He went on to say: “I’ve always thought that playing at Anfield was very difficult, because the crowd create an amazing atmosphere that puts a lot of teams, opponents and the referees under pressure a lot.

“We saw evidence of that when 3-1 down against Dortmund they got that second goal and the crowd lifted them and I think it inspires this team. They are that kind of football club, Liverpool, that get inspired by their support.”

Cheers for the kind words, Whiskey Nose. Ironic about the refs, though, right?

Terry To Miss Liverpool Clash

Some good news ahead of Friday’s game, David Luiz looks as though he will be starting. That’s because John Terry is set to miss 10 days of action, after an injury sustained in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Swansea.

You might have been like me, and thought about how Roberto Firmino would have run rings around the Chelsea captain, but at least we’ll get to see good old Sideshow Bob back droppers clangers in blue.

Daily Video

Robbo and Gibbo were the stars of our daily video today, talking about who gets the most stick in the office, as well as actual football stuff — like Lallana’s potential new deal.

It’s dead good, as always, so watch it here:

TAW Words

It’s not a mad new feature, or anything like that. Just our write-ups from today, in case you missed them. Firstly, I did my weekly look back through the Liverpool FC history books, which you can read here.

Then we had Gibbo’s column, which this week was all about Daniel Sturridge and his new role in Liverpool’s fluid forward line. Read that here.

Then some more words from myself, as I waxed lyrical about the silent but effective work of new signing Georginio Wijnaldum — ’cause I think he’s actually good. Read it here.

Finally, our work experience lad Oli has done a Mario Balotelli rant — somebody had to — looking at his failed Liverpool career, and how he only has himself to blame, which you can read here.
