HERE are the player ratings from The Reds’ comfortable 3-0 win over Derby County.

Loris Karius: 10

You’d stick him in your five-a-side, wouldn’t you? Getting marked down for missing a punch in the second half, but everything seems different. First touch, body language, talking to his defence. Showed everything that we need to know when charging down and challenging Darren Bent with his feet.

It’s going to take a while to get the hang of his starting position being the fucking centre circle, though.

Gorgeous bastard.

Nathaniel Clyne: 8

Again, pointless even bothering — and not in a bad way. Defends well, gets forward, tidy in possession. Basically the perfect full-back.

Ragnar Klavan: 7

Scored a goal, wasn’t threatened. A good little run out for the Estonian. Communicates well.

Joel Matip: 7

Didn’t score a goal, wasn’t threatened, looked elegant in possession. Dealt well with Bent, who looked like he’d spent his last four years out the Premier League on the weights.

Alberto Moreno: 7

Liverpool’s enfant terrible — who’s response to being under scrutiny is to dye his hair fucking white — actually put in a good performance. He linked up the play well, though he’ll never get the credit he deserves for that.

Lucas Leiva: 8

Lucas Lazarus. And that is how we like him. In fact we fucking love him.

Marko Grujic: 8

He’s massive, isn’t he? Like freakishly tall. Came up for a corner in the first half right in front of us and looked at least three-foot taller than the Derby ‘keeper.

Continued his pre-season form with a promising display and had a few pot shots at goal. Didn’t look half as phased as he did after Jordan Henderson’s goal the other night.

Jordan Henderson: 8

The box-to-box midfielder was supposed to be consigned to be relic of the past bin, wasn’t it? In the words of Stevie Nicks: “Jordan Henderson was everywhere.”

Phillipe Coutinho: 9

Goal on his proper return to the fold, and left the Derby defenders in knots. Seems to love playing with his mate Bobby. Calm finish to put the game to bed.

Roberto Firmino: 9

Lovely teeth. Lovely touch. Lovely player. Have a nine, Bobby, you’re alright for me.

Divock Origi: 8

Touch was off, seems to be a little out of rhythm. But still had far too much strength and presence for the Derby defence. Blammed a carbon copy of his Southampton belter in. Well in Divock. Now build on it.

SUBS

Emre Can: 7 (subbed on 57′)

Came on to a hero’s welcome from the travelling Kop. Slotted straight into the midfield, which was nice.

Danny Ings: 7 (subbed on 63′)

Came on to a hero’s welcome from the travelling Kop but in a more withdrawn role than he would want, which was a shame.

Ovie Ejaria: 7 (subbed on 78′)

Came on after a long spell of injury, which is great.

Mick Clarke: 10

Made it all the way from the Dominican and didn’t demand to be picked up on his doorstep — unlike Andy Clarke, who made everybody late.
