JUST a quick round-up of the biggest Liverpool FC related stories from today.

Blues Want Benteke

Get on this. Everton are reportedly interested in signing Christian Benteke to replace the outgoing Romelu Lukaku.

Sunderland and Crystal Palace are also interested in the Belgian, who posted a snapchat today telling fans he’s “ready for whatever”, though the club have dismissed suggestions that he will be allowed to leave on loan.

Ha ha ha.

Lucas Stays For Now

Jürgen Klopp has said he is keen to keep hold of Lucas Leiva until at least the end of this current transfer window, with the Reds struggling for defensive options.

The Brazilian featured at centre back on a few occasions last season and rarely looked out of place, and with injuries to Joel Matip, Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez, Klopp has found himself light on options heading into the new season.

One more season for the big 10, Lucas.

Suarez Relishing Return

Luis Suarez has been speaking to the club’s official website, talking about the upcoming friendly clash between his former team and his current Barcelona side, admitting he has mixed feelings going into the game.

He said: “Everybody knows Liverpool is so important in my life, in my career, and my family as well. My second child was born there and I had a really good moment there. I think it’s a nice moment for me.”

Is right, Luis.

Wembley Trains

They never seem to get this right. The ECHO are reporting that there will only be one train to Liverpool Lime Street from London Euston, after the Reds’ Wembley clash on Saturday evening.

The train is due to depart at 8.11 with fans being encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment, or to make a weekend of it and return on the Sunday.

Sound that.

Ojo Inspired By England Star

Sheyi Ojo has been speaking to FourFourTwo about Dele Alli, and trying to emulate the seamless transition that the Spurs midfielder made to Premier League football, and the England squad.

Ojo said: “Dele’s with the England squad and doing well for Tottenham, and back then (at MK Dons) he had the same swagger he has now. The step up he’s made to the Premier League and the international stage is an inspiration for all young players. I’d like to follow in those footsteps.”

Reckon he’s on the right track.

Transfer News

French media are reporting that the Reds have made an official approach for Lyon left back Jordi Gaspar, after the 19-year-old has reportedly caught the eye of Klopp.

Also, Liverpool are still being linked with a move for former Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen, with Spanish media suggesting that there is an offer on the table for the 30-year-old centre back.
