YEAH, that was rubbish. Going to put as much effort into this as the players did.

Danny Ward: 7

Conceded three but still our best player. Couple of really good saves. Should maybe come for the first, but others were more at fault.

Nathaniel Clyne: 6

Thought he was ok. Some good tackles and didn’t make me tear any hair out like some others.

Martin Skrtel: 5

Seems to be around for a lot of these, doesn’t he?

Dejan Lovren: 6

Mixed day. A really good block at 0-0, but then some dodgy moments, too. But two games in quick succession. Others didn’t have that excuse…

Brad Smith: 4

Looked nailed on to get sent. Defensive side of his game still worrying.

Kevin Stewart: 5

Stop shooting. Didn’t do loads wrong but we probably need better.

Pedro Chirivella: 5

Felt for him, as he started well but quickly deteriorated as it unravelled around him. A good case in point that youth needs to be mixed with experience.

Jordon Ibe: 4

In the TV show Red Dwarf they described the theory that there are infinite parallel universes where every different life eventuality is played out. In one of those infinite parallel universes Jordon Ibe did something useful today.

Philippe Coutinho: 4

Looked furious he was dragged to south Wales for this.

Sheyi Ojo: 5
Ran with it well a couple of times. Assist.

Daniel Sturridge: 5

Some quick feet when we could get it to him, but hardly forced the manager’s hand for Thursday.

SUBS

Christian Benteke: 6

Scores a good goal and looked a decent threat. The wingers seemed pleased he was there.

Lucas Leiva: 4

Looks done to me as a central midfielder under Klopp. Pretty dreadful for their third.

Cameron Brannagan: n/a

Sorry mate, I was watching my mate’s kid firing a toy into my pint glass by then.
