Lads, after 48 years of living (40 of them supporting the Reds), I will be making my first visit to Anfield on Wednesday night. Needless to say, I want the evening to be a good one, so need to know the best pre match pub and post match city centre bar. I’ve been told to head for the Albert next to the kop. Ps What’s the best way of getting from the city centre to the ground and vice versa.
Hi Andy. Albert is a good option. Its decked out in flags and scarves and has old Liverpool videos playing. Pretty cheap too. After the game it depends on your tastes! But all the bars in the Seel Street area will be open and fairly busy.
A taxi to the ground should cost you no more than £8. Afterwards just follow everyone else down the hill! If you see a taxi then great, but if you have to walk it shouldn’t take more than 40 minutes to be back in town. Another option is to have a drink round the ground and then order a taxi to pick you up. Good luck!
