A deserved win eventually, admittedly against a poor side. Should keep the planes away for a few more games anyway. Numbers and words.

Simon Mignolet: 6

Can he do more with the goal? Probably sees it late. Shouting more, which is good

Glen Johnson: 5

He’s leaving soon. It’s fine, lads.

Emre Can: 7

Has figured out how to transfer his purposeful running to right back. Strong in the tackle too. Go ed Emre.

Martin Skrtel: 6

Was fine, I think.

Dejan Lovren 5

He’s good until he isn’t. Looked confident. But I suppose he always does. Nice of him to get a header on target after swerving it against Villa.

Steven Gerrard 6

Wasn’t great was he? But then he scored and he looked dead happy and it made me dead happy. Has now scored more than Robbie Fowler. And could he play.

Jordan Henderson 7

Much better from the captain elect. High energy and picked his passes well. If England cricketers have to apologise to bowlers for dropped catches then Jordan is probably due one from Raheem.

Adam Lallana 6

Had some nice moments. But you want more. Should score too.

Phil Coutinho 7

Football - FA Premier League - Liverpool FC v Queens Park Rangers FC

Our best footballer. A great goal. Passed it into the top corner. Why don’t more do that?

Raheem Sterling: 5

Hasn’t had a good game since he started telling everyone he might be too good for Liverpool.

Rickie Lambert: 7

Best game for Liverpool? Its easy to concentrate on what he can’t do, and I have, but was great at what he can.

SUBS

Jordon Ibe: 6

Showed good purpose. Might have to get used to being an impact sub in the short term so good that he can be good at it.

Lazar Markovic: 5

Didn’t do much but good to keep him involved

Lucas Leiva: 5

Got Gerrard a great clap
