Football - FA Premier League - Liverpool FC v Manchester City FC

JORDAN HENDERSON is expected to officially sign a £100,000-a-week five-year-deal with Liverpool on Thursday, according to The Independent.

And the newspaper says Jordon Ibe and Martin Skrtel are also expected to sign new contracts soon. The Liverpool Echo reported earlier in the day that Skrtel said: “I am not leaving anywhere. Not to Wolfsburg nor to Naples.”

His agent Karol Csonto said: “The only offer which is lying on Martin Skrtel’s table right now is the extension of his contract from Liverpool. We have been working on the details, and we will be finalising it soon.”

The Independent adds that there no plans to spend big in the summer, with free agents James Milner and Danny Ings the top targets to add to Divock Origi.

Depay won’t go away

LIVERPOOL continue to be linked with £25m PSV Eindhoven forward Memphis Depay, the Eredivisie top scorer with 20 goals this season.

LFC scouts have reportedly been spotted watching the player, 21, several times and in an interview with TalkSport, Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan said Liverpool are currently the only club in “official talks” for the player, who has also been linked with Manchester United.

The Reds have renewed their shirt sponsor deal with Standard Chartered for the next three years. Figures for the deal haven’t been released although The Echo says it is likely to be in the region of £30m a season.
