NEIL ATKINSON was joined by Andy Heaton, Mike Nevin, Adam Smith and Si Steers in the aftermatch of the chaos of Loftus Road and they pick the bones out Liverpool’s shambolic defence before looking towards the visit of Real Madrid.

At last! Had been waiting for this. Even had to listen to Football Weekly during the commute this morning.
Thanks, chaps!
If we’re going dogging on Wednesday night, and I’m up for it, we’ll need Collymore.
Come on guys, bit the fucking bullet! Gerrard hasn’t got the legs to play up top for 90 mins anymore. Hopefully this game put it to bed. He wasn’t starved of service, he was just too slow to get in the right positions. Not his fault, just a result of age and injuries.
Another fantastic podcast. What intrigues me is that after each diabolical performance the lads criticise individual players, the line ups, the tactics whatever, but the guy in charge of all this gets an easy ride, as though the manager is divorced from the weekly embarrassments. Today there was some recognition that Rodgers is culpable and that he is ultimately responsible for the shambles we are witnessing. If we thump Real Madrid he will deserve whatever praise comes his way; however the reluctance to ask questions of his ability when the team is shambolic is odd.
Good band them…
The more I think about it, the closer that first half becomes Wolves-at-home-under-Hodgson-level. And I don’t say that lightly – just the fucking dirt worst with no pluses.
Tomorrow night is what we’ve been looking forward to getting back to for 5 years but a lot of people are probably rightfully worried about a potential humiliation in front of the watching world. Hopefully something’s been sorted at the back over the last couple of days.
Hey lads, great podcast.
I was doing some sums and I came up with this (albeit a tad reductive after only 8 games, but this
is *21%* of the EPL season).
2013/14 :
average goals per game = 2.65
average conceded goals per game = 1.31
average points per game = 2.21
2014/15:
average goals per game = 1.63
average conceded goals per game = 1.5
average points per game =1.63
So pretty much fecked in all stats. If our form continues along these lines we’ll end with ~ 62 pts
which was wedged between 7th and 8th last season.
Daniel can’t return soon enough, and A-N-Other mobile striker in January.
