Fair play to that Rory bloke. He always talks sense and always makes interesting points. Certainly one of the best contributors on TAW.
He made a point about football being a capitalist arrangement and I think how that is interpreted is an aspect that divides Liverpool fans today. If i’m honest, I don’t like capitalism or the ethics of american business men. I despise advertising and try to avoid buying anything I’ve recently had shoved down my throat. That said, I accept the new direction of LFC. I think it’s more a case of my morals going out of the window because it’s Liverpool but it seems we have two choices. We can sit in the kitchen with a pair of flares on eating lentils whilst listening to Radio 4 on the transistor radio or we can sit in the living room with a Dominoes pizza watchin football in 3D on the 42 in” with surround sound. We have to accept progress because it’s out of our control. We have to accept ‘Being Liverpool’. If we don’t we’re gonna be sitting in that kitchen feeling righteous and morally superior but everyone else is gonna be out having a good time. Sorry, can’t remember what my point was gonna be.
Leave Radio 4 alone!
