This week Neil is joined by Kristian Walsh, Rob Gutmann, Mike Girling, Mike Nevin, Paul Salt, Rory Smith of The Times, Neil Jones of the Echo and Ian Broudie of the Lightning Seeds as they chew the fat about the utter horror show that was Bolton, discuss Ian’s upcoming tour, Baddiel, Skinner and THAT Le Tissier goal before ‘looking forward’ to our forthcoming games against Manchester’s finest and also the United game.

And United… love it! :)
Great stuff as ever guys.
You should get Rory Smith on more often too.
He’ll be glad of the attention now he’s gone behind the paywall so no-one reads his stuff anymore.
Great as always, but not enough time spent on the City and United games. Non-footie stuff for more than 5 min when you’re so short of time, with City and United coming up?
Great podcast chaps, thanks.
Do you have a link to the Ian Brodie tour dates? I cant seem to find them online.
Great as usual for the limited time LFC was actually being discussed, but have to say that far too much time was spent with Ian Broudie discussing his career. Surely there are enough issues surrounding the club worthy of dissection without using up time discussing music and then spending the last ten minutes trying to cram everything into what’s left of the hour?
Agree with Kris about how little football was discussed. But I thought the podcast was awful this week. Neil seems like he wants to talk about how bad the performance and in a bigger context but everyone else just blocks him before he gets to any topic that could lead to Dalglish being criticized. He is not beyond criticism. He is taking a big paycheck from the club so he is fair game. So is Charlie Adam. I shouldn’t even have to say that. How is he starting? Why was he bought? With the injury to Lucas the whole squad looks unbalanced. Spearing and Adam are not good enough for a top 4 side in the CL. When will that be resolved? Andy Carroll is a lazy idiot. Pepe already said on SoccerAM that he is the worst trainer in the first team. Stewart Downing is a £10-12 million player, maybe. Henderson is talented but how did he never partner Lucas in midfield? Dalglish had the final say on all transfers. It looks like Comolli can only talk him into Uruguayans. All last season we heard rumours about Comolli scouting players in Germany, France and Spain yet we only bought one player outside the Premier League. Doni doesn’t count, ever. Rob Gutmann can argue all he wants that we didn’t actually spend very much money but we didn’t hear about a single bid for anyone outside of England. There are young players out there to be had. Instead we saw Dalglish drive Charlie Adam to his medical.
Sad to hear Neil being not allowed to follow the thoughts of many a supporter that maybe our tactics were out of kilter, which they were and maybe some of the players we bought for big money, are not up to the challenge of playing for a team with top 4 aspirations, which of course, may bring some criticism of Kenny, which is a worry because as much as he is an utter utter legend for all of us supporters, as manager he Cannot be above criticism. Or maybe he can!??.
As usual Rob is the main cheerleader for apologism, nothing is wrong according to Rob, Adam is world class, henderson is world class, Carroll will score hatfuls if only defences would let him, and of course in 1988 it was much the same with the fact that its only that nasty, out of control entity, Luck , that is blighting our march to world domination!.
Bit too much on Broudie for me, not enough on the football, and as much as I disagree with some of the panellists at times, its a great podcast for all Liverpool fans. Keep up the good fight Neil!!
Last week we had 90 mins with Didi and you were able to talk about footie as well to an intresting guest. I enjoyed the interview with Ian Broudie but not at the expense of the footie, especially when the season is coming to a cross roads and by this time next week it could all have gone tits up.
Rory Smith came in at the end and said what needed to be said. the league is not very good, Chelsea and Arsenal are the poorest they have been for years yet without Lucas and Suarez we look short; we gambled on Carroll, Downing, Adam and Henderson to get us into 4th and at the moment we are 6 points adrift.
Gerrard is back and we should be better but we are not, we are short of goals and Gerrard is probably our best finisher and he needs to play further forward. There is lots to talk about so can we have a 60 min footie special next week please,
I enjoyed the Broudie interview very much. The stuff on Three Lions, for example, was interesting and amusing.
I agree we needed more on the Manchester games, but I am sure we can do the postmortem next week.
I wanted Didi to talk about his time in the Elm after the City game in 08, so we can’t have it all…
How about another chinwag Friday to make up? I believe there is a prem game on that night but doubt it will be worth watching!
What a difference a week make!!!!!!!!!! Talk as much as you want about music, it has gone tits up but only for the Mancs, did i think we would win both games, no. Did I think we would win one, yes, but only on Thursday morning. Looking forward to the next podcast and can we have lots of gloating please.
