There’s not much to this post really – just a list of hyperlinks. But the links point to the parts of what I believe is the finest sporting documentary ever made. I’d searched for it for years having lost my VHS copies when a mate who’d looked after my stuff when I was off on a travel jolly managed to, you know, not look after my stuff.

Then, several years later, one Mark Hayhurst – interviewed earlier this year on this very site – was kind enough to give me his copies of the first two episodes. But it was never the full bhunna. I needed the closure of episode 3.

So imagine my surprise and joy when the Rt Hon Fergal Davey of the Twitter parish pointed me at youtube and said “wake up!”. There they are – all three episodes in bite-sized chunks, displayed in all their subtle polished glory.

No more from me – just watch them. If you’ve watched them already – do it again. Regularly. If you haven’t – well, you’re in for a massive treat. The recording of Bill and his brother Bob, himself a managerial legend, reminiscing about the games they grew up playing in Glenbuck. The palpable affection between the great man and his peerless peer, Jock Stein. And the insight from the men who worked with these genuine giants of our game. It’s an education.

So – the links.
