FOR our round up of all the LFC academy action John Gibbons is joined by Rob Gutmann and Jack Whitehead for The Central League.

Just one competitive game for the U21s since our last show, a 2-0 win away at Reading. The lads discuss a much improved display after a thumping away at Southampton in their last game, and how much factors like the stadium, occasion and the potential of first team action can influence performance. There is also praise for the explosiveness of Sheyi Ojo, the passing of Cameron Brannagan and the professionalism of Jerome Sinclair.

The U18s have played three times in the last few weeks and tasted victory and disappointment. We evaluate two resounding victories away at Fulham and Everton with plenty of praise for Toni Gomes, Adam Phillips and Herbie Kane. We also analyse a home defeat to Manchester City and whether the strength of the Eastlands side at academy level is becoming cause for concern as we look to attract the best players from the area.

Central League is one of a package of 30-plus new shows about Liverpool FC released to TAW Player subscribers every month.
