AS heard on Monday’s podcast, The Anfield Wrap are giving away two t-shirts courtesy of Love Follow Conquer, the unique menswear brand for Liverpool fans by Liverpool fans.

Love Follow Conquer have launched these two new t-shirt designs to kick-off their new autumn-winter range, with jumpers, jackets, shirts and polos on their way soon.

The first t-shirt features one of those Liverpool players genuinely deserving of that ‘legend’ tag so often dished out far too easily. John Barnes, or ‘Digger’ to us, spent ten years at the club scoring and creating special goals, converting from the winger he joined as to a central midfielder before he moved on to pastures new. England never took to him the way we did and maybe that endeared us to him just that little bit more.

Before he left he became club captain and an inspiration to youngsters coming through, including the likes of Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher. Since retiring from the game he’s continued to inspire Liverpool fans and players and Love Follow Conquer felt they had to do something to recognise this. The t-shirt comes in grey, perhaps as a reminder of the silver-grey away kit Digger wore as he helped terrorise opponents on his travels in his first season at the club.

The second t-shirt also features an Anfield legend but it’s not a tribute to any of the players who helped win all that silverware down the years. That is unless you count LFC’s ‘twelfth man’.

The t-shirt depicts the Battle of Spion Kop, a battle in South Africa in the early days of the club’s life that would lend its name to what became the most famous football stand in the world. You might say ‘arguably’ the most famous but we’re not arguing, we’re telling you. And The Kop isn’t just a stand anyway, it isn’t just the mound of earth it began as, the concrete that came later or the seats that followed later still. It’s The Kop, and if you’ve been part of it, or even if you’ve just seen it at its best, you know what that means and what memories it conjures.

There’s one Digger and one Spion Kop t-shirt up for grabs. Before we’d come up with an idea for a question we got this idea from Bryn Griffiths (@brynola on Twitter) :

“I’m sure you know the Fuck, Marry, Kill game? Well I thought that the competition could be to give the prize to the person who names the best combination of three people to Love, or Follow, or Conquer.”

So there’s the competition. You need to follow @LoveFollowConqr on Twitter and then tweet them who you’d like to Love, Follow, Conquer.

Interpret that whatever way you think works best. Love Follow Conquer will then retweet the best ones (and maybe some of the worst ones) before picking the winners for us. (Use two tweets if you really need to.)
